CERTIFICATE IN ACCOUNTING - LEVEL 2 (Qualification number 603/6338/1)

This qualification delivers a solid foundation in finance administration, covering areas such as double entry bookkeeping, basic costing principles and using accounting software.

Students will learn finance, accountancy, business and communications skills.

Firstly, we do not teach like a tradition education provider. You will be tutored and mentored throughout your course on a 1:1 basis - at your own pace.

Our Grantham training centre is your best option if you are local and able to attend, as you will benefit from tutor support when you need it along with peer support from fellow learners. The training centre is not a typical classroom environment - the radio will be on, as will the kettle!

If you are unable to attend the Grantham centre, don’t worry - your tutor will work with you on a blended learning basis. This means you will be given all the support you need via a multitude of ways - this is either via 1:1 zoom sessions, phone calls, emails, texts or WhatsApp - whatever suits you.


How long will it take?

As long as it takes you. The official guidance is that it will take between 6-12 months - however if you get through quicker than that - fine, if you take a little longer - that’s fine too! Here at 3CATS, we work with you until you are comfortable in your understanding before moving on.


How is it assessed?

There are tutor marked assignments throughout the course to support each of the study units. Once you have completed the assignments and practice assessments for the unit and your tutor is in agreement you can take your unit final assessment - which is a 90 minute exam. There are 4 exams for this course.

Exams are held in the Grantham office for free for 3CATS learners. A suitable time and date will be organised between you and your tutor.

If you are unable to attend the Grantham centre, you will need to make arrangements for an exam centre closer to you - including paying their fees.


Any other fees?

3CATS pay all registration fees to AAT and exams sat in the Grantham centre are free. If you are unable to attend the Grantham centre, you will need to make arrangements for an exam centre closer to you - including paying their fees.

You may need some study text books to support your learning throughout the course(s) however if you study in the Grantham centre there is a healthily stocked bookcase with study text books for you to use and borrow


How much will it cost?

The price you will pay for this course with 3CATS is £1485.

This price does not include study text books or external exam centre.


Am I eligible for funding?

To qualify for funding from Lincolnshire County Council and The European Social Fund you must meet the following criteria;

  1. You must be aged 19 or older as of 31.08.2023

  2. You must live in Lincolnshire

  3. You must earn £20,319.50 or less per year OR be in receipt of state benefits such as Universal Credit, Job Seekers Allowance etc
