The Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Catering is designed to equip catering staff with the essential knowledge and skills to maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety in the workplace. Whether you work in a restaurant, café, school kitchen, or any other food-handling environment, this course provides practical guidance on safe food preparation, storage, and handling, helping you to protect both customers and colleagues.

Through engaging learning materials and real-world examples, the course covers key topics such as personal hygiene, temperature control, cross-contamination prevention, and food safety regulations. By completing this award, you will not only meet mandatory legal requirements but also gain the confidence to contribute to a safer, cleaner, and more professional catering environment.

 

  • This is a 1 day workshop course.

  • This course is delivered as a one-day workshop, either in our classroom or, on request, at a location convenient for your group. It is designed to provide a full, engaging learning experience in a single day.

    • Efficient qualification: Participants complete the course and gain their qualification in one day.

    • Ideal for volunteer groups: Supports skill development without the need for multiple sessions or travel, making it accessible and convenient.

  • At the end of the workshop, participants complete a simple multiple-choice questionnaire (MCQ). This allows everyone to show what they’ve learned and finish the qualification within the same day, making it quick, straightforward, and accessible.

  • The fee covers everything you need for the course – your qualification registration, teaching, and all the support to help you succeed

  • Standard price: £150 per participant, covering enrolment, teaching, assessment, and certification.

    Group rates and savings:

    • Up to 6 participants: £900 (no saving)

    • 7–12 participants: £1,350 (save up to £450 compared to individual pricing)

    • 13–18 participants: £1,800 (save up to £900 compared to individual pricing)

    These group rates allow volunteer organisations to train more people for less cost per participant, with all resources provided and full tutor support included, ensuring a smooth and efficient learning experience.

  • To qualify for funding from Lincolnshire County Council and The European Social Fund you must meet the following criteria;

    1. You must be aged 19 or older as of 31.08.2025

    2. You must live in Lincolnshire

    3. You must earn £25,750 or less per year OR be in receipt of state benefits such as Universal Credit, Job Seekers Allowance etc
